Research interests: pedagogy (social pedagogy, pedagogy of higher education, methodology of pedagogy, history of pedagogical thought and education in Kazakhstan, pedagogy of communication, pedagogical ethics, etc.); psychology (social psychology, psychology of higher education, general psychology, educational psychology, developmental psychology, etc.); Philology: professional Russian language.
Candidate's dissertation: "The problems of moral education of schoolchildren in the history of education of Kazakhstan" (1966-1988).
Doctoral dissertation: "The development of the theory of moral education of schoolchildren in the history of education of Kazakhstan" (from 60-s of the 19th century to 90-s of the 20th century).
Supervised the theses of 31 master- students in Pedagogy and Psychology and 2 candidates of pedagogical sciences, 2 PhD students.
