Division “Social work and Tourism”
The department "Social Work and Tourism" is a structural unit of the Kazakh University of Economics, Finance and International Trade and was established by the decision of the Academic Council of the University in 2017, by combining the departments "Social Work" and "Tourism and Service"
Training in the specialty 5В090500- "Social work" is carried out by the department, established in 1999 as the department of social and humanitarian disciplines, the activity of which was aimed at ensuring the teaching of general educational disciplines.
In 2001, the Department of Philosophy and Sociology was established on the basis of the Department of Social and Humanitarian Disciplines. In December 2012, by the decision of the academic council of the university, the department was renamed the department “Social Work”.
The department "Tourism and Service" was organized in 2010 by order of the Rector of the Kazakh University of Economics, Finance and International Trade.

In the 2018-2019 academic year, the total number of teaching staff is 20 people, of which 16 are full-time teaching staff. At the department there are 3 doctors of science, 3 candidates of science, 4 doctors of PhD, 10 masters.
The faculty of the department publishes monographs, textbooks, teaching aids, scientific rating articles with a high impact factor, participates in the work of International Conferences and Symposium, holds round tables with famous scientists. The scientific interests of the department are aimed at studying the social problems of modern society and technologies of work with various categories of the population; problems of tourism development in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The pedagogical team of the department "Social Work and Tourism" during the school year takes part and speaks at international, republican, city scientific forums, conferences, etc. The activity of the department is recognized by European and Russian Academies of Sciences.
Currently, the Department of Social Work provides training in the following specialties 5B090500 - “Social Work”, 5B090200 - “Tourism”, 5B010300 - “Pedagogy and Psychology” (bachelor degree) and 6M090500 - Social Work (Master's program), in accordance with the license No. 1137409, issued by the Committee on the Control of Education and Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan on February 3, 2010 (license supplement number №0110347).
